Musical Director

Neil Morton is Musical Director of three respected ensembles: Blyth Symphony Orchestra, Wansbeck Voices, and Ashington and District Male Voice Choir. Across these varied groups, he brings together professional musical standards with an encouraging, inclusive approach.

His work goes far beyond conducting rehearsals and performances. Neil creates an atmosphere in which musicians and singers of different ages, backgrounds and levels of experience can develop their confidence, strengthen their skills and enjoy making music together. Whether working with experienced performers or enthusiastic amateurs, he is committed to helping every individual contribute fully to the ensemble.

Through his work with choirs and orchestra, Neil plays an important role in the cultural life of the local community, building connection, ambition and a shared love of music.
